24bit 192kHz Sample Rate?!?!
To actually hear higher rates (if it is even possible), you need to drop from coin on a stereo set up or wired headphones and a DAC that can do higher rates well. But even if it is not possible, 16/44 or 24/48 or 24/96 (I think above that is silliness) on a better stereo system or to good headphones, is pretty awesome. Also Lossless Switcher, which automates it on macOS, is working very good now. So you can get out of the Audio MIDI Setup handcuffs. https://github.com/vincentneo/LosslessSwitcher

Tidal or Apple Music for quality music
There's a workaround for the bitperfect situation for Apple music: a plugin. It's only for MacOS, tho. And is another thing that can fail at some point.

Any Dolby Atmos + Hi-Res Lossless Albums/Songs Out There?
The issue is that on MacOS Apple Music does not automatically switch sample rate based on songs. There is a 3rd party tool to do this: https://github.com/vincentneo/LosslessSwitcher
- MacBook and zen dac v2 with FLAC and dsd
- Is there a version of this, but for Apple Music on Windows?

How stop Apple Music from self launching on Mac Mini M1?
Get ready to get your mind blown. To see if another music service would be involved, I got a 30 day trial of Amazon Unlimited. AU still sucks, except it does have exclusive mode and Apple Music does not. This lack of exclusive mode on AM was a clue on the cause of it launching on its own! Anyhow, when a SONG on AU changes (at end or, me skipping), Apple Music launched! WTF? Remember, this was happening before I installed AU but this suggested a clue. Just to check, I quit a neat little app I use to automatically change bit rate in AM and, the launching stopped! So LosslessSwitcher is the culprit!

Timing animation with music
You should also check out AudioKit. The latest release should have an audio engine completely rewritten purely with Swift iirc.

Xcode 13: "Add packages" doesn't do anything
I' just installed Xcode 13 and try to run a playground that uses a package (https://github.com/AudioKit/AudioKit). To add it I'm supposd to select "File -> Add Packages...", but when I do this absolutely nothing happens. No window appears, no error message, just nothing. What could be the reason for this?

I spent the xmas break learning how to make my own plugins
It seems to be the industry standard at least. I have played around with iPlug2 and AudioKit a little bit but not enough to really form an opinion. (iPlug2 is described by the authors as "not production ready" and AudioKit is mac / ios only)

How to make something like audacity in IOS?
You’re up for a lot of work, but I would start with AudioKit which is an abstraction over AVFoundation.

Hey, I have this two way slider, and I am trying to make it change the end and start points of recordings, i have already coded the recording part with AVfoundation
Maybe check out AudioKit, it’s great for audio stuff.

I want to make a MIDI instrument. Should I learn Swift or would something like HTML5 be easier?
There are open sources synthesizers projects for iOS in swift. I would recommend giving it a look and see if it fits your needs. https://github.com/AudioKit/AudioKit

Best way to consume CMake based C lib in Swift for iOs/desktop
I can’t help with that, but I would suggest looking at AudioKit. Even if it doesn’t help you replace that dependency, it might give you pointers for doing it yourself.

Ask HN: How to get started with audio programming?
If you are on macOS, AudioKit is a nice simplified layer on top of CoreAudio and CoreMidi: https://github.com/AudioKit/AudioKit
