cornerstone v0.5.1: solid repository foundation for your python github projects
I have tens of python repositories on Github and whenever I spend some time off open-source and come back with a new project I had this tedious task to remember what was my optimal setup for CICD/docs/etc ... For example : how to maintain a single README.md for both repository github and pypi pages while authorizing slights rendering differences depending on the platform (like having more badges on Github). So I made a repository whose purpose is to be cloned whenever you start a new project to have your setup.py and .github/workflows properly settled. How to make a Python package in 2021
I have a cookiecutter template for this at https://github.com/simonw/python-lib (also click-app and datasette-plugin)
It sets up GitHub actions for publishing the package to PyPI when you create a release on GitHub - which I find way to be a really productive way of working.
