Trying to get a lv2 plugin work on Linux
NAM vst works with Yabridge. You will get native GUI that way. Protesus is a good alternative with native Linux version and it is integrated into BYOD through GuitarML processor. BYOD is the best sounding guitar software (IMHO), Linux or not.

NAM: The First Free, Open Source Amp Modeling Software
I think Proteus was first and it has some advantages over NAM (capturing the whole range of gain knob, integration with BYOD, different training modes, Linux version). Good choice of captures available too.

Could I build the plugin version on Linux?
So I was wondering, if I could build the plugin version of Neural Amp Modeler (https://github.com/sdatkinson/NeuralAmpModelerPlugin)
- if you have any cool amps upload them to tonehunt

Difference in micing amps and using vsts
Agreed on Tonex. Though there's a free alternative that's open source that I hear good things about: https://github.com/sdatkinson/NeuralAmpModelerPlugin

Should I buy the Josh Middleton Tonality or get Tonehub and buy his expansion?
https://github.com/sdatkinson/NeuralAmpModelerPlugin it says: The Neural Amp Modeler plugin currently supports Windows 10 (64bit) or later, and macOS 10.15 (Catalina) or later.
- Guitar plugins that rival stock Logic amp/pedal sims?
-
Recording electric guitar
Honestly, I'd just use the NeuralAmpModeler plugin and models/cabs from ToneHunt.

This story truly terrified me when I read it. Is it just this era’s hype or is it a valid argument?
P.S. If anyone plays guitar, the NAM "AI" plugin is nothing short of amazing: https://github.com/sdatkinson/NeuralAmpModelerPlugin

What are your expensive hobbies?
