Minimal GUI library for C
This project is Rust and not C but that's not important for the purposes of this discussion - https://github.com/Rodrigodd/giui. There you can find your average "I'm going to build a minimal GUI library" project. They found that things like text shaping and layout was pretty involved, but basic support is available. Things like handling systems with multiple screens isn't implemented. With it you can write programs that "mostly work, most of the time."
