Custom resource loader for sound events?
The texture part was something I took care of by registering a custom resource provider and the language stuff was handled via subclassing MusicDiscItem and overriding some methods where I'm stuck is on sound events, especially now that 1.19.3 has made the SoundEvent constructor private (so that this hack will only work if I use an access widener).

Anyone have success with this Script to install programs on the Steam Deck that are not flatpaks
I would personally enable the functionality provided by this script in different ways (Chromium from flatpak or--better--just use Firefox; minecraft-launcher is pants compared to PrismLauncher or a command-line launcher like portablemc) or not at all (I doubt having the latest mesa drivers is actually advantageous vs. the optimizations built into Valve's version of the kernel, but I could be wrong), but to each their own.

Minecraft Modpacks
The best launcher right now is Prism Launcher, a MultiMC fork with Curseforge integration that comes pre-bundled with an optimized version of Java when downloaded from flathub (read: the Discover store), but there are plenty of options including GDLauncher, portablemc if you want a command-line launcher, or, heck, the vanilla launcher.

PolyMC WAS NOT compromised
GD is too busy for my taste--I'm honestly looking at some command-like launchers like ferium (also from GorillaDevs) or portablemc (because 🐍 python 🐍), but I'm also giving it a day to see how quickly "PlaceholderMC"* gets off the ground.
What are some alternatives?
