FUS VS EnderalVREssentials-Nightly

I used Wabbajack to install FUS. Needed to pay 5 bucks for a Nexus premium membership, but the modpack works perfectly. I think the Nexus premium is optional if you're okay with babysitting the installation and manually queueing up the next mod.

the install guide on the nexus pages/the github pages for the FUS modlist https://github.com/Kvitekvist/FUS were actually more straightforward than any video tutorial I tried watching. Theres plenty of pages on how to setup a clean install of of skyrim and how to set up and where to install wabbajack. And then its just a one click install for any premade list of mods. Idk, not having to pause a video and go back if you missed something having the steps to scroll up and down on a page was simpler for me.

Step 1: Start with a Wabbajack Modlist. I recommend FUS.

I second this - check out the FUS "modpack" - lots of VR-specific fixes and improvements, with optional Visual & Gameplay improvements. Really worth it. There's an install guide at the above link!

I'm building upon the FUS Wabbajack modlist by adding expansions and LotD, and I've reached the point of needing to merge plugins. I've gotten zMerge working, and I'm following Lexy's merging practices, but I'm stuck on the last step where you use merge plugins hide to disable/hide the plugins you've merged.

Use The Fus Modpack Which can be installed via Wabbajack which is a modpack auto installer.

Like I said I am completely new to modding anything let alone Skyrim VR but this mod list works great out of the box, I leave it on the second profile (FUS ROH) and it pretty much just works. If you installed the regular version, you may want to check out the nightly version of the wabbajack https://github.com/Ashok0/EnderalVREssentials-Nightly , I played on it for 150 hours and had no issues other than the ones listed on the GitHub page.

Seconding this. I used a version of this Wabbajack list https://github.com/Ashok0/EnderalVREssentials-Nightly Enderal is genuinely tight down to the world design. There is an obscene amount of environmental storytelling in the woods and the world is very walkable hence the lack of fast travel. The spooky atmosphere is really helped by VR.

So ive just started playing Enderal VR, and I dont know if its the control scheme, the way skyrim vr is or what, but I cannot get into it. Im kind of left wondering if its skyrim vr as a whole that I will have a problem with, or just the mods included in Enderal, but it just feels super janky to play to me. Long story short, How different is the skyrim modded experience vs enderal for those who have played both?

The biggest issues is the outdated looking tree leaves in the second clip, and scenery's broken orange parallax bug.

The skyrimvr.esm is broken for enderal's dyndolod, you need a patch from the Ashok's EVRE wabbajack. https://github.com/Ashok0/EnderalVREssentials-Nightly , since you're doing a fresh install i'd recommend you just install the whole modpack.
