parsing strings for calculation
If you don't want to roll your own, there are many existing libraries for this purpose.

okidoki - markdown editor with C# support
Yup it's in Blazor. For C# evaluation I've used ExpressionEvaluator. I'll probably replace it with Microsoft.CodeAnalysis.CSharp.Scripting library but I had some issues when i try to run it on WASM. I guess it's related to this issue

I found a remote code execution bug in VSCode that can be triggered from untrusted workspaces. Microsoft fixed it but marked it as moderate severity and ineligible under their bug bounty program.

Is there a way to dynamically interpret a string as javascript within a C# winforms program?
I've used ClearScript before to use JavaScript as a DSL in a tool. No issues at all. https://github.com/microsoft/ClearScript

Lua or JavaScript as an extension language?
I've had good luck with Microsoft's Clearscript - https://github.com/microsoft/ClearScript)
-
Scripting languages that use host language's libraries?
The ClearScript library https://github.com/microsoft/ClearScript enables V8, JScript and VBScript to be used as extension languages for .NET languages. Our company uses it extensively and has done so with great success for years. Anything done in C# can be exposed to the scripting language and to some extent back the other way as well.

Compiling source at runtime using dotnet 5
Along the same lines, I use Microsoft ClearScript which uses JavaScript.
