- Ask HN: What local apps do you sync via Dropbox/Syncthing or similar?

Is there any way to sync bookmarks and articles over syncthing? Sort of like a Pocket or Wallabag that doesn't require a server?
Afaik they use databases, and synching databases is bound to corrupt them. Generally you need a program to be aware that something can be accessing and even writing it's files at any time, as that requires special care (see e.g. for calendars and contacts: https://github.com/39aldo39/DecSyncCC). I'd look for an extension or something to export/import that data to files, which you then can use together with syncthing for a semi-manual process.

Serverless syncing
I have experienced this issue: https://github.com/39aldo39/DecSyncCC/issues/83

Peer-to-peer Calendar sync
There are android versions of Syncthing and decsync on Fdroid or Google Play. IMO the only downside is, there is only a native plugin for Evolution. There is a plugin for radicale, which is a Caldav/Carddav server. So you can locally run radicale with decsync plugin, sync decsync via Syncrhing and sync Thunderbird, etc via radicale. This is still what you are looking for, but it is a little complex setup imo...

I'm not sure I understand correctly, but take a look at this: https://github.com/39aldo39/DecSyncCC
-
Contacts App
Have you tried DecsyncCC? It creates a CardDAV and CalDAV account on your phone to synchronize your contacts, calendar, and tasks to a local directory.

SuperTux
Unfortunately, the three people who programmed the vast majority of modern SuperTuxKart and managed the community were bullied out of the project a couple years ago. [1]
The new team lead was somebody who seemed to have a habit of stonewalling [2] ideas and code contributions from both community members and the dev team, talking down about "newbie-tier players" with "zero skill", and [3] hyperfixating on "balance" (in what is fundamentally a kids' game) without room for fun or discussion. The lead artist, who made basically all the tracks that are worth looking at, and whom I'd worked with now and then to get a couple contributions included, eventually disappeared too.
Naturally, commits, contributors, and blog posts/updates are now at an all-time low. [4]

I can't think about another video game using Java. I mean, there WILL be more but i haven't saw them.
It is a thing, Google is advocating for it, and many also use SDL - for example, or this.

Does owning a Steam Deck make you play more games?
No problem! For starters, you'll want to compile and run the game. Are you using Windows, macOS, or Linux on your main PC? Instructions can be found at https://github.com/supertuxkart/stk-code/blob/master/INSTALL.md but I;d be happy to walk you through the process if it makes it easier :)
