Wireless Electrostatic Capacitive (EC) split?
I'm looking into open-source projects for EC keebs, mainly to determine if it's worth investing in for my end-game setup. And more importantly, whether it's even build-able as prototypes. So far what I've found are: this article from 2017 with design guides & known projects at the time, wireless EC Corne builds (1,2,3), and this EC87 (non-split, QMK).
- Topre, only once

v2 of the btrfld, a foldable, low profile, tenting keyboard.. Now with PCBs
have you seen this? https://github.com/Cipulot/CorneECRevival

Best ergonomic/split keyboard for someone that uses Topre/Realforce/HHKB keyboards?
You don't have many options when come to ergo topre-like keyboard TBO. There are CorneECRevival and dometyl if you want a concave keyboard, but dometyl is not easy to build for the first-time user. But the demand for topre is growing. We already have sliders and housing from Deskeys. If someone can make a custom conical ring we could have a complete custom topre board.

Are there any choc dactyl manuform keyboards that I can print myself?
This is a 34 key choc dactyl https://github.com/geoffder/dometyl-keyboard/tree/main/things/dartyl_choc

Are topre considered Ergonomic?
If you are fishing for something weirder, but still Topre, the Dometyl is a Dactyl offshoot that uses rubreh domehs and sliders. I have not tried it myself.

Minimising finger movement, but not the kind of movement you're thinking
You could use domes. https://github.com/geoffder/dometyl-keyboard/ offers some technical advice and links to some products. Complex, and also expensive.
-
This might be heresy, but...
You're totally not crazy... or at least not alone in this! You may want to have a look at https://github.com/geoffder/dometyl-keyboard/

How to get top plate of Dactyl Manuform without the bulky body that drops down ?
Try "skeletal" designs such as those from bastardkb.com or one generated from dometyl.
-
Don't see many failure posts,
Firstly, please consider a Skeletyl instead of a conventional Dactyl. Skeletyl has a lot less material and so is a lot faster to print. If you need more than 5x3+3 keys, you can customize your own Skeletyl style case as well: https://github.com/geoffder/dometyl-keyboard
