  • How do I get a smashbox in Mexico?
    1 project | /r/fightsticks | 26 Jun 2023
If you can get access to a 3d printer and can buy keyboard switches and a raspberry pi pico from AliExpress, you can build the ums bubblebox ! Because of shipping fees to mexico, buying a smashbox there is going to be more difficult
  • How do you connect a USB C breakout board to a Brook Fighting Board?
    1 project | /r/fightsticks | 7 Jun 2023
I bought one of these boards hoping to connect it to a RP2040, and it was looking to be an uphill battle. I think Brook is basically the same as a GP2040, maybe go from the RP2040, and follow the instructions from bubbleboxx. I think however, that 4090 board (which I also bought) doesn't exactly line up. There are things called the Crane model U or the that are still sold by other makers that have slightly more documentation than that 4090 board. I even found a link for a board with way more connections, but it is escaping me right this second, and I can't seem to find it elsewhere.

I made a post about it Here on the Fightstick reddit that goes into more depth. The design is open source and can be found on Github here.

Hello! My name is Bloojay and I grew a love for platfighters during the pandemic and have been developing hand and wrist problems ever since lol. So I went to buy one of them Box controllers that I here so much about and to my surprise they're sold out basically everywhere all the time. Then I remembered that I built my own 3D printer and am trained in computer aided design, so I decided to make one myself. It's open source, and it's called the BubbleBox, and yeah. Here's the Github, includes the print files w/options, the BOM, the assembly instuctions, and quick start guide.

  • Any sticks (hitbox layout preferably) out there with right stick/cstick functionality?
    1 project | /r/fightsticks | 30 Mar 2023
There's the B0XX which supports PC and the Nintendo consoles. Someone made custom firmware for it to let you create your own layouts and rebind buttons with a bit of coding knowledge (they have a layout to play Dark Souls for example).
  • (WTS) just dropped 5 BubbleBoxes on my Etsy

These are BubbleBox 1.0s (early PCB production), a controller I designed that is primarily made for Platfighters like Melee, Ultimate, and Rivals of Aether, but I use mine to Compete in Guilty Gear Strive too. In the listing, you have the option of adding a hard case for travel and/or USB-C to GCC cable for use with Gamecubes and Wii's. The BubbleBox runs on Haybox firmware so it suports N64, Gamecube, Wii, Wii-U, Nintendo Switch, PC, and Linux. It uses hotswappable MX switch sockets, so you can change on the switches for any MX style keyboard switch you want, they come with Gateron pro 2.0 Silvers. The color and keycaps are customizable, and it comes in 2 layouts, Standard and WASD. The WASD Layout gives you an extra up key above the other movement keys like a keyboard or mixbox.

this firmware for raspberry pi pico would work to let you connect that etsy controller to a gamecube, as it runs on a raspberry pi pico.

If you’re handy check out the crane lab discord and make a controller using haybox. It has a keyboard mode and a dinput mode when plugged in through a usb c breakout board.

It runs on Haybox firmware. So it's compatible with PC and Linux, as well as N64, GameCube, Wii, Wii-U, and Switch. It recently got Xinput support too, so it's a lot easier to use on modern games like Rivals of Aether and Multiversus. The firmware also includes a custom keyboard mode that I have been using for Guilty Gear Strive, but since Xinput is out, I'm also working on a Strive Xinput mode so it can be used at locals much easier than before because it will get treated as a normal controller in those games.
