How can it take to learn love2d?
There's this nice tutorial made by the bytepath developer. It gives you a good ground for you to build your own stuff, it teaches you how to handle scenes, asset management, and object creation, as well as some game mechanics, but you can skip this part. You can also download other people love2d games, extract the files and see how they did things, I do this a lot when I want to know how to implement certain mechanic.

I open sourced a game I just released on Steam, written in Lua
For anyone else looking to make a game in Lua + Love2D, a developer wrote an entire tutorial for how they made their game, which is also released on Steam: https://github.com/a327ex/BYTEPATH. Both the game and the tutorial are high quality, and provide really useful insights.

Cloud variables?
I personally recommend the sock.lua library. In my experience it's the simplest way to add these features.

Issues with various networking libraries
- Finally using sock.lua every time i connect 3 clients togheter the server crashes. There is an issue about this on github, but has no answers :( https://github.com/camchenry/sock.lua/issues/16

Has anyone got a simple enet example?
I'd like to suggest to use sock.lua which wraps around enet. Makes network programming a little bit easier. Some examples are included in the Github project.

Example code for embedded server
I've found a library sock.lua that seems sufficient for my needs. There's an example project included that implements both server and client in the same app. I am not sure yet if this library could encounter performance issues, but it seems targeted to high performance network communications in games, so I'm hoping it will be fine.
