AFK Script that works in background!!!

Is there any way to prevent alt+enter from putting Steam into Big Picture Mode?
reddit.com/r/Steam | 2021-10-15
There is a tool called https://www.autohotkey.com/ that allows you to rebind any keys or shortcuts as you want. You can use that tool to disable this shortcut globally or just when Steam window is active. To do the latter use the following code for you AutoHotkey script: #IfWinActive, ahk_exe steam.exe !Enter::return The first line ensures the rebind works only when steam.exe is the active window and the second line rebinds Alt+Enter to nothing.
Can I fully program keyboard keys with WORDS?!

Highschool student hacks entire districts IoT network for Rickroll senior prank
news.ycombinator.com | 2021-10-12
Yup, you can still do that. AutoHotkey is a wonderful tool for this. You can intercept input events globally, and transform them or send completely different events to the target app.
For example, I use AutoHotkey to implement my JKLmouse program, which turns certain keyboard events into mouse movement for precise control. It's similar to the MouseKeys that comes with Windows, but made for laptop keyboards without numeric keypads.
And yes, you could definitely do that Minesweeper hack in AutoHotkey! :-)
Map Down Arrow key to Shift Up Arrow key

Hard part is making it so that shif+up doesn't send shift... It might be worth investigating this program, though I'm not entirely sure it can do what you want (never used it)
A Different Kind of Keyboard
news.ycombinator.com | 2021-09-21
If you want to make your own arpeggios to use with a normal keyboard (I do), I recommend kmonad: https://github.com/kmonad/kmonadnews.ycombinator.com | 2021-09-21
To add to this, KMonad can give you these “QMK”-style tap/hold keys on your laptop keyboard too:
It’s implemented as a virtual hardware device so compared to other methods of remapping keys it’s fairly well supported across applications.
Vim with Colemak

Either use Caps as a multi-use key (with something like kmonad) or maybe alt/altGr if your space key is no too wide.

Effective and efficient text editing using Emacs (Alternative to Evil)

I want to bring up another package I use regularly: xah-fly-keys. For that I use KMonad to bind [home] to caps and use it to toggle modes.
