Should I stay with Foundry?
I guess I'm always surprised when I don't see MapTool mentioned. It's multiplatform, 100% open source and the Takehara framework includes just about all of 5e. No doubt there is some learning curve but you can do everything with it that any other platform does. https://www.rptools.net/toolbox/maptool/. https://github.com/rtakehara/5e-Framework/

Maptools tutorials?
I use Takehara's DnD 5e framework which can be found Here and has a section in the discord "dnd5e-takehara" channel under Frameworks. It works a little differently than the one Arcadum uses but it's way more user friendly. You can add onto it with custom stuff as you learn and it has tons of tutorials that you can find on the Github page I linked.

Hey everyone! I've started learning Python a few months ago and recently finished my first project- a Dungeons & Dragons character builder.
You keep some values inside "global variables" like chararmorchoice. You fill those up in the functions prompting the user for values. It is better to think about how you can return values from a function instead of modifying a variable that's not part of the function.
What are some alternatives?
