Project mention: Show HN: Boardzilla, a framework for making web-based board games | news.ycombinator.com | 2024-01-29If you're looking for something more low-level, I can recommend boardgame.io [1].

Use Squib so you can separate design and content. You don't want to get halfway through making your cards when you decide to change things about your layout and then have to make the exact same change to a bunch of cards.
Project mention: Anything you wish there was an open source solution for? | /r/selfhosted | 2023-05-16I haven't tried Foundry VTT, so I'm not familiar with the issue you are describing, but you could look into PlanarAlly. I'm currently running 3 campaigns on it. Users join an separate campaigns, they only need to be created once.
Project mention: Does anyone have a copy of this map that doesn't have the labels on it? I'm trying to rotate it for a friend who doesn't like the compass orientation, and I'd appreciate having a clean version without the place labels to serve as the base | /r/Pathfinder2e | 2023-10-15Is this from one of the Strength of Thousands pdfs? You can just use Token Tool or Photoshop or some other app to extract the clean images from the pdf.
Just wanted to follow up that https://sectorswithoutnumber.com/ can also fill a lot of needs for creating the sector map itself. It's created for a different RPG, but it will give you an interesting set of planets and stars with interesting features you could use as inspiration for bonuses and such.
Project mention: I’m working on a prototype, are there templates for making cards? | /r/tabletopgamedesign | 2023-07-14You could give your hand at templating using Cider. https://github.com/oatear/cider
