"proper" way to do 2D movement?
I always like finding a killer 2D player controller on GitHub and studying the code. I've only seen good things about this written tutorial and this video tutorial series--though both may be slightly outdated in syntax, the principles haven't aged.
What are some alternatives?
AStar - A fast 2D path finding library based on the A* algorithm. Works with both grids and graphs. Supports any .NET variant that supports .NETStandard 2.0 or higher. This library has no external dependencies. The library is licensed under the MIT license.
