Project mention: Greatest “Classic” Mac Laptop: Powerbook G3 Pismo | news.ycombinator.com | 2023-09-13I also have an X230 that I bought from a local recycler. Its small but also a bit on the chunky side when it comes to weight and thickness. I do enjoy using it though. I put a SATA SSD and a mSATA SSD in it, upped the RAM to 16GB, replaced the Bluetooth adapter with a USB plug that I have a Logitech Unify Adapter plugged into, and replaced the stock BIOS with Skulls (which also nuked most of the Intel ME) https://github.com/merge/skulls/
Since its running Coreboot/SeaBIOS now it won't boot Windows. That's fine though became it runs the XFCE edition of Manjaro just fine.
Project mention: This badboy got decommissioned because one loosy keycap. Got it for free, bought an SSD in it and installed MacOS Venture with Windows 11 Dual-boot. | /r/thinkpad | 2023-07-10You will need to gather info on your specific hardware. For X1 Carbon 6th gen here is a general guide for the kexts: https://tylernguyen.github.io/x1c6-hackintosh/
I use Thinkfan on my T420, T440, X230 and X1 that run Linux. I linked the author's github page, but I believe it's available straight from the package manager in Ubuntu/Mint, so elementary might have it too
I am trying to install macOS Ventura on my thinkpad T450 using the latest OpenCore release. It seems that people have successfully installed it on the same hardware (https://github.com/CLAY-BIOS/Lenovo-ThinkPad-T450s-Hackintosh-OpenCore/issues/124).
Project mention: Thinkpad X230 - Trackpoint scroll now working when trackpad disabled | /r/hackintosh | 2023-09-15
I am also running TPFanControl v2.1.5 by Shuzhengz(https://github.com/Shuzhengz/TPFanCtrl2). The fan is set to manual at 64 (MAX FAN SPEED I UNDERSTAND THE RISKS ASSOCIATED WITH USING THIS SETTING AND I ACCEPT).
Project mention: Can a lenovo thinkpad e14 gen2 run kali linux or linux in general? | /r/linuxhardware | 2023-05-08
And for Windows, my https://github.com/esporttoys/TPMouse was inspired by warpd itself but focuses more on the intuitive usability of direct cursor control via inertia/momentum.
Project mention: LibreScroll - infinite scrollwheel on any regular mouse! | /r/MouseReview | 2023-07-20
Check this other EFI, I see he uses same processor like you https://github.com/pierpaolodimarzo/ThinkPad-T480
It's a custom logo, you can tell neofetch to point to a text file with whatever logo you like in an ASCII format... the IBM logo is here btw: https://github.com/roadkell/ascii-art
