Project mention: Hello all, I need some advice. I just got myself a gaming laptop after decades on consoles. A Legion pro 5 16, I9 13th gen, 32 GB RAM. What should I do/install/change when I first turn it on. | /r/GamingLaptops | 2023-12-11
Project mention: For everyone interested, I've recently discovered LenovoLegionLinux. | /r/LenovoLegion | 2023-12-07The program allows to: - configure fan curve - overclock cpu/gpu - limit battery charge level - enable/disable rapid charging - enable/disable win key - enable/disable touchpad - enable/disable FnLock - other
First I have to say I really don't understand open core that much, I followed this guide https://github.com/valnoxy/t480-oc and now I have Monterey and Win11 on the same drive. But my problem is on the boot menu. In the first image if I choose Mac OS X nothing happens, with Open Core and NVMe0 it goes to open core boot menu and Windows Boot manager "tries" to boot windows (more on this later). The second image is the open core boot menu if I choose Mac os all goes well but is I choose window it end in a BSOD like the third picture. The only way to boot into window is to change the boot order and put windows boot manager as the first option (so booting to win is the default) and to boot to Mac I must go through the boot selector pressing F12 then choose open core, and then Mac os. Sorry for the long introduction. What I want is to boot to open core as default and then there choose win11 or Mac , so how can I fix the win11 not booting issue??? Thanks!!!
I've pretty much replaced all functionality from windows via - EasyEffects for audio + preset - My own program for rgb - Porting over the windows ICC profiles, don't remember where they were located - Ideapad Controls for all my other vantage needs (GNOME extension, can look into its source code if you want to reimplement it somewhere else as its pretty simple)

Check this other EFI, I see he uses same processor like you https://github.com/pierpaolodimarzo/ThinkPad-T480

Project mention: Having a problem with my E14 it is not charging, not booting, and even disconnecting the battery didn't help. Does anyone have any more debug advice? | /r/thinkpad | 2023-07-08But that 95% what the issue is. The port itself is cheap, like $2-3 on Aliexpress, however the replacement precerude might be not. Well, at least not in any high-income country. In this case if you are out of warranty, get a known-working parts machine with damaged screen off of a marketplace/ebay and swap the boards. The replacement is straightforward for anyone with 2 hands and a screw driver. Open the back cover, disconnect the battery first, about 5 screws and couple of ribbon cables, reasseble and off you go. That is a 30 min job tops. The price for the US market should be around $50-80 usd. And you'll get a few spare parts if you're lucky. E15 has the same exact board and battery, but obviously not the same keyboard. Include it into your search as well. If you're a perfectionist kinda person, you can edit the serial number and model name to match what you originally had with UONE tool. That is 5 minutes more.
