Kobos[1] and Pocketbooks[2] are a lot more open than Kindles. AFAIK you can transfer .epub files into both devices and these epubs are perfectly readable via the stock OS. If for some reason you find the stock proprietary OS lacking, you can install an open source one like KOreader [3] or Plato[4]
Of course you want a good way of organizing epubs pdfs mobi, and like has already been mentioned Calibre[5] is a great option.

You may be interested in Osmosfeed: https://github.com/osmoscraft/osmosfeed
It is a static site feed aggregator primarily designed to go with GitHub Pages. I host one to aggregate my own writing on different sites. I think it may fit your use case because your Osmosfeed site itself outputs a single Atom feed. So, for example, if I have an Osmosfeed site that aggregates feeds 1, 2, and 3, the Osmosfeed site has a single feed which will include the three individual feeds. Mine has about 10-12 feeds and it has worked perfectly thus far with no issues. Not sure if it would have problems at higher numbers.
Project mention: I made a cool (i think) Japanese resource list website | /r/LearnJapanese | 2023-11-04https://github.com/lrorpilla/jidoujisho - mobile app for reading and watching with pop-up like yomichan
So, lately, I have been trying to get some QOL applications from GitHub for Osu! They are applications that seem very safe and many other people are using them with no problem, just me. (The two Github applications here, and here) Whenever I download the one for my system and open the application, it won't open. If I run the program as an administrator nothing, run it in cmd? nothing. The only thing is if I type it into the search bar, the icon pops up in my taskbar but then goes away. I can't figure it out. I don't feel like I should reach out to the developers of these programs because it's happening with multiple different programs not just one. If anyone knows how I could get the programs to open, that would be greatly appreiciated!
