Emacs + lsp-mode + sourcekit + company-mode etc looks reasonably close to what I get with Rust in Emacs.
If I were doing application development I'd maybe consider Swift.

The state of mssql support in text editors is not very good as far as I've seen. I think the shortest path would be getting sqltoolservice working, but there are some bumps in the emacs attempt. (For instance, I can't get completions to work at all).
