Anycubic Kobra Marlin 2.1+ based custom firmware
Before I converted my Kobra Max to BTT SKR Mini, I was looking into firmware upgrade and also flashed it with available updates made by various users (https://github.com/wabbitguy/Kobra_Max/releases). It improved printer, a bit, slightly... but I was still unhappy. I also heard that input shaping and linear advance are more or less experimental features in Marlin and not so well worked out. Hell, even Prusa rather used their own implementation for their MK4.

Auto bed level doesn’t level bed - Kobra Max
Damaged strain gauge and wrong thermistor defined in the firmware. Had the same issues. Call Anycubic, they will send you replacement strain gauge, but it will take literally months (in my case I raised the issue with their support on the beginning of January, at the beginning of March I got the message that replacement parts are on the way. They are still in transit). So grab a replacement part (strain gauge for Kobra Max / Vyper E, it will cost you $20) and replace it. Stock firmware is Crap with capital C, but before you do this - check the temperature of your hotend. If you don't have a multimeter with temperature and K type thermocouple - buy one. You will be using it with 3D printer and they are cheap. So preheat the hotend to 190 degrees (PLA preheat) and touch the nozzle with the thermocouple. If you will be getting 190ish, you are grand. However I can bet you will get 215-220. Next do the filament change, or manually set up 230 degrees. Again measure the nozzle temp. If you will be getting 265-275 degrees - that's the case I am talking about. Anycubic defined the temperature sensor as type 5 when it should be type 11. Now you have two options. 1 - remember that 171 degrees set is the actual 190 degrees and print PLA with that or 2 get a wabbitguy firmware (https://github.com/wabbitguy/Kobra_Max ) check in source/Marlin/Comfiguration.h if the thermistor type is set to 11, if not - set it to 11 (you are looking for #define TEMP_SENSOR_0 line - currently at 442 line) compile it and follow the update procedure that's listed on that GitHub page.

Anycubic Kobra Max problems
All that said, I also just found this a couple of days ago: https://github.com/wabbitguy/Kobra_Max. The first print with it (using my own PrusaSlicer profiles) actually seemed a lot better than the stock firmware, but then I noticed the loose connections and haven't had a chance to dig in to that.

Kobra Max Insight for anyone interested
I decided to look back at his files and found he has a firmware update similar to the Zombie one i saw going around. Kobra Max Firmware, which is great.. it re-enables linear advance, makes the ABL 49 points instead of 25 plus more.. and the best part.. (.1) increment adjustments for your Z offset.
