vdu_controls discussion
vdu_controls reviews and mentions
- Vdu_controls – automatically control external monitor brightness on Linux

PSA: Do you change monitor brightness often and hate the OSD buttons? Check if it has DDC/CI.
I would say many do support some DDC/CI commands. My 10+ year old HP, a very old Beng of unknown vintage, and my 2 year old LG all do to some extent. I can control all of those using ddcutil and vdu_controls (which is why I write vdu_controls). The range of supported commands varies, but brightness and contrast are commonly available.

Want to try TW but have a question about experimental repos
On the Build Service page, note that the maintainer (me) appears to be the github author of the package by clicking the github link at the top of the build service page. Perhaps examine the any other folk involved under the Users tab.

Is there an application or a library that can communicate with MSI monitors to change their display inputs?
Perhaps the monitor is only connected via USB. Ddcutil can do DDC over USB for (some?) USB connected monitors. If anyone needs a system-tray accessory to front ddcutil - you could look at vdu_controls (my own contribution).

How do I get a slider for brightness control?

External monitor brightness control
I'm not familiar with Twinkle, however I suggest trying vdu_controls available in the AUR.
