Make traditional doorbell smart
Depending on your doorbell‘s voltage, you could possibly use a Shelly Uni flashed with firmware. Although it shows up in the Home app as „not compatible“ it behaves exactly like a typical HomeKit doorbell with notifications and chimes on HomePods 👍🏼

How does the Shelly relay work from an end-user perspective?
It can be configured into “toggle” mode so that any toggle of the physical switch toggles the actual state of the light, but yeah the standard rocker switch will no longer show the actual state of the light, just like if you had a setup with multiple light switches.

Garage Door Opener finally died, looking for HomeKit replacement recommendations.
I found meross useless. I now use a Shelly 1 flashed with HomeKit. Absolutely awsome. Only cost £12ish. Never had a no response. Probably the most reliable HomeKit device I have. https://github.com/mongoose-os-apps/shelly-homekit watch the video. Really easy to flash over Wi-Fi

First time using Shelly
Hey Bud you can use ShellyHomekit custom fw on virtually all Shelly Models with the exception of the Shelly Dimmer, To get these in to Homekit you will need Homebridge running to make the two play nice. My whole house is shelly’d to the Gills and I love it 🥰
