Remember "RuneScape"? Nearly all of the game's original versions are lost. But if you ever played it for a few minutes you might have a missing version ($200 bounty)
We made a search tool here that will automatically find all the relevant files. However if you want to search manually yourself, the directory names were C:\WINDOWS.file_store_32 and C:\WINDOWS.jagex_cache_32.

Remember "RuneScape"? Every original version of the game is lost. But if you have any old computers or hard drives you played it on, you probably have a missing version
You can look at the source code here. Lines 86-132 show the file names it will copy. I'm assuming your banking information isn't stored in a file named "3305336302107891869"...

[R] RuneScape (2001-2012): most versions of this online game are completely lost - but if you ever played it once on any old drive/computer you'd have a missing version
However, if have any old drives, computers, or backups that the game was played on, you'd have a copy of the old files. The directories to check would be called ".file_store_32" or ".jagex_cache_32". Alternatively you could try using this open source search tool which will automatically find all the relevant files.

Follow-up: Do you have old computers/laptops/hard drives/backups that you played RuneScape on? You could help document game history, since nearly all original versions of the game are lost
Secondly, we've created an open-source search tool. This will search your drive for all old Runescape versions and combine them into a file you can upload. It works on Windows 95 and only takes a minute, so you can put it on a USB and use it on old computers.
