  • Big changes are coming

Specifically for this test I relied on https://github.com/bsdz/remarkable-layers
  • Is there a way to create a Notebook automatically based on calendar events?
    1 project | /r/RemarkableTablet | 19 May 2022
I personally prefer not to rely on the reMarkable cloud so what I would do is directly do this on the device. Meaning with Toltec I'd install Python, the dependencies to my script then run it. For the notebooks themselves the challenge is reMarkable specific format. You can bypass that entirely by relying on a background layer but if you want to be able to tinker with the content itself https://github.com/bsdz/remarkable-layers could help.
  • remt 0.10.0 released
    4 projects | /r/RemarkableTablet | 22 Dec 2021
Regarding vectorized brushes I gave an example of a basic hack going from a library of shapes in SVG to the Lines .rm format then copy/pasting them a year ago https://twitter.com/utopiah/status/1317090050258178048 thanks to https://github.com/bsdz/remarkable-layers . Usable as-in but not the most convenient.
  • can RM2 notebooks have covers?
    1 project | /r/RemarkableTablet | 7 Dec 2021
Convert image to SVG using e.g Inkscape then SVG to .rm using https://github.com/bsdz/remarkable-layers then on device copy/paste that image as a sketch to the first page of your notebook then set cover as 1st page. I think.

Reading/parsing .rm files has been already implemented by these 2 Python libraries: * https://github.com/bsdz/remarkable-layers (not maintained any longer) * https://github.com/rschroll/rmrl (looks up-to-date)

Actually, checking out the awesome-reMarkable git repo I saw this https://github.com/bsdz/remarkable-layers
  • Secure Copy (SCP) of image files from rm to my Linux laptop?
    2 projects | /r/RemarkableTablet | 27 Mar 2021
Not sure I understand as the reMarkable doesn't have an image viewer. That being said here are some examples using scp https://gist.github.com/Utopiah/e2d5c944bbd632e3ae0530e602977f45#file-remarkable_functions-sh and specifically for conversion https://github.com/bsdz/remarkable-layers https://github.com/lschwetlick/maxio/blob/master/rm_tools/rM2svg.py
  • Install package to convert PDFs to rM lines files
    4 projects | /r/RemarkableTablet | 7 Mar 2021
You can install remarkable-layers on a Linux PC. The resulting notebook file will be uploaded to your reMarkable cloud storage (using rmapy). I could not test it myself though.
