Is anyone noticing more and more packages being abandoned?
reddit.com/r/reactnative | 2021-05-14
I took a long break from React Native (focusing more on ML-related things) and I had to make some updates to existing apps. I'm finding that many of the packages I have been using haven't been updated in 1+ year, are incompatible with newer versions, and maintainers are no longer accepting PRs (example issue). I'm not sure if this is simply because RN is older now, so there are more packages to be left abandoned, but it also feels like in many cases the abandoned packages are still the go-to option for the community. I don't blame the maintainers at all for this because I sure don't have the time to create a new package and I appreciate the work they're already done for free. Just wondering if anyone else is experiencing this and it might be time to consider other frameworks (ex. SwiftUI).reddit.com/r/reactnative | 2021-05-14
Yeah, but redux-persist did look quite active when I chose it
Persisting useReducer with a custom React Hook
dev.to | 2021-04-28
For me, being able to persist a users state is crucial to my app functioning so having a way of persisting data with the useReducer hook was essential. With Redux I would always use redux-persist however there didn't seem to be any formal way of doing it with useReducer.

Take a look at redux-persist handles this problem too. Might help taking a look at their code to see how / if it can work for you.
How To Use Redux Persist in React Native with Asyncstorage
dev.to | 2021-01-20
Redux Persist is a library that allows saving a Redux store in the local storage of an application. In React Native terms, Asyncstorage is a key-value based, unencrypted, asynchronous storage system that is global and can be used as the local storage for the app.
