FindMyFlipper
The FindMy Flipper app turns your FlipperZero into an AirTag or other tracking device, compatible with Apple AirTags and Samsung SmartTag and Tile Trackers. Apple's App Tracking Transparency treated its own apps better than rivals
I remember somebody trying to hook into the Apple Find My network (that is, do things with AirTags). They did that byโฆ being a Mail.app plug-in or something to get the correct entitlements? That certainly sounds like the wrong permissions.
Ah, it was OpenHaystack: https://github.com/seemoo-lab/openhaystack#installation

Openhaystack: Build 'AirTags' โ track Bluetooth devices via Apple's network
Looking through the code, it looks like this uses your personal Apple Mail entitlements to pull the locations that get collected by devices on the FindMy network:

I wonder if this were also possible by making an Apple developer account.

Apple and Google deliver support for unwanted tracking alerts in iOS and Android
There's some info about Apple's network here:

Seems like in theory you could do that, though there are definitely heuristics you could apply to detect those tags, depending on how stealthy they are being.
Also on the servers side Apple could just limit you to a reasonable number of tags.

- OpenHaystack is a framework for tracking personal Bluetooth devices via Apple's massive Find My network. Use it to create your own tracking tags that you can append to physical objects (keyrings, backpacks, etc)
