Usage of global variables in a GUI calculator project
Take a look at a fairly well organised gui I made (for some numerical analysis) here. Note how there are no "globals", instead there are two module level objects (the tk root, and app, which contains references to all tk widgets and variables), which are defined in init.py and can be accessed by importing them with the package. This is imo the most pythonic way around using globals, even though package-level variables are essentially the same.
