If you want to get into DF pad your resume. If you are learning python learn to create parsers. If you add to this project https://github.com/abrignoni/iLEAPP any police department will take you.

Depends on what you want to do, but lets say you want to do some parsing of a data set such as using software like https://github.com/abrignoni/iLEAPP or FTK, or you need to use Hashcat to break an encrypted file. In alot of CTF you need the power.

6)Attend a Club or make a project. I don't know how many resumes I have seen from college students and all they have on it is their college courses and tools and nothing else. Join your local college forensic club if there is none form one. Also if you like programing developed a simple tool or contribute to a project. An example is https://github.com/abrignoni/iLEAPP. Start a blog and write article on forensics. I rather have someone who does these activity than someone who passed a Cert out of college. Skills can be taught passion cant.
