Am i the only one that likes synology over TrueNAS?
I would say it really depends on what your goals are... and how much time do you want to spend on maintenance or dealing with the thing. I was using ZFS for many years for my plex server; now I am running mergerfs+snapraid - https://github.com/TheLinuxGuy/free-unraid

Anyone using ZFS + mergerfs? I'm seeing a performance penalty on 'fio' that isn't there on BTRFS
I did a quick write-up here on github about my test methodology and results. TL;DR `fio` write to ZFS `bw=1240MiB/s (1300MB/s)` vs. mergerfs `bw=374MiB/s (392MB/s)`
