  So the Cambridge page might be saying "use an Applesauce controller" as a sort of shorthand for "use a drive from an actual Apple computer".

  If you get a flux-level reader/writer like a Greaseweazle, and if you're interested, could you file a ticket at https://github.com/davidgiven/fluxengine? If the Ensoniq uses a weird format then that sounds like something that I should add support for in FluxEngine. Then you'd be able to use any machine with USB support (and wouldn't need to use Omniflop).

  I'm not sure about the Greaseweazle software, but fluxengine supports the Greaseweazle device and allows reading and writing Apple II disks.

  Also: ooh, 4x5.25" disks! A cursory look at the disk controller suggests it's a variation on the standard IBM scheme. If you've got a GreaseWeazle or Fluxengine (and the Cortex disk drive) file a bug here: https://github.com/davidgiven/fluxengine and I'll see about adding a profile to allow reading and writing disks. It should be trivial.

  Your options to make these are: (a) get an old computer which still has an FDC; (b) get a Greaseweazle; (c) get a FluxEngine (disclaimer: I made this: https://cowlark.com/fluxengine). If you go for (a) you probably want Windows 95 and Microsoft's DMF software. For (b) or (c) you probably want to get my FluxEngine client, which works with both types of hardware. This will let you write IBM disks. Unfortunately DMF isn't supported yet but it should be trivial to add. If you go this route, please file a bug and I'll do it? https://github.com/davidgiven/fluxengine/issues/new
