You pip install pyserial, but then you import serial, so what exactly does pip install serial download?
unfortunately there are some use cases for this. For instance, bootstrap-flask decided to use the same name of the abandoned flask-bootstrap in order to abide by the convention of calling Flask's extension flask-name and to let switching users to keep the same import statement. The same applies to flask-security-too which is even mentioned by the original flask-security

python flask-security: encryption error "hash could not be identified"
user_datastore.create_user(email='[email protected]', password=passlib.hash.bcrypt.encrypt('testerdetest', salt=app.config['SECURITY\_PASSWORD\_SALT'])) still get an invalid pw :(If i look at the source code at https://github.com/mattupstate/flask-security/blob/develop/flask_security/utils.py it seems it only uses a sha512 encryption... I don't understand the documentation then...

Should I use Flask-login for production?
Flask-User on the other hand has not been updates since 2019. So I would not advise its usage in production. If you are looking for something similar (and flask-login is too bare bones for you), then perhaps have a look at Flask-Security which provides same functionality and more, is active and thriving.
