  • Aido - My shell command generator
    1 project | /r/commandline | 21 Dec 2022
Hey r/commandline! I've been trying to improve my shell skills and have been playing around with OpenAI's GPT-3 API. This made me create aido, a simple and easy to use tool that automatically generates shell commands from task descriptions. The name aido is derived from sudo, get it? :). It can also explain shell commands by passing the --explain flag. You can find it on https://getaido.app/ - it's completely free! The tool is built with rust and the code is open source (https://github.com/kris7ian/aido-cli).

Hey r/rust! I've been having a lot of fun recently playing around with Rust and OpenAI's GPT-3 API. I decided to combine these two technologies to create a Shell Command Generator. Aido is a simple and easy to use tool that automatically generates a valid shell command from a task description. You can also let it explain any given shell command by passing the --explain flag. It's my first rust project and I'm really excited to share this. Looking forward to hearing your feedback and ideas. Check it out on https://getaido.app/ and let me know what you think (it's completely free)! The rust code is open source (https://github.com/kris7ian/aido-cli)
