gr-lora_sdr
This is the fully-functional GNU Radio software-defined radio (SDR) implementation of a LoRa transceiver with all the necessary receiver components to operate correctly even at very low SNRs. This work has been conducted at the Telecommunication Circuits Laboratory, EPFL.

lora packet sniffing
Theoretically, the physical layer of every LoRa transceiver should all be the same, up to the spreading factor, coding rate, etc. Still, I've found that REYAX devices are only sometimes compatible. How do we know that any LoRa receiver can receive any bits sent with LoRa? I wish! Have you tried them? I'm stuck having to order compatible devices for my applications. Here is one: https://github.com/flengyel/RYLR998-LoRa I guess I'll have to be content with practical experience IRL and downvoting on Reddit.

Neither Magic, nor a Mirror: Retro-Style Newsfeed (more in comments)
Looks nice. If you don't mind, I'm going to borrow this for a LoRa project I'm working on, which by coincidence happens to have 40 character scrolling displays. The time.sleep() calls will be rewritten as asyncio.sleep() calls since your code will be rewritten as an asyncio coroutine. It's not your original application, but I like how you are pulling in news and weather feeds and randomizing the display.

My favorite thing about ham radio is that 90% of the conversations on ham radio are two people talking about the fact that they're using ham radio.
My Reyax code for the [RYLR998 is on github](https://github.com/flengyel/RYLR998-LoRa). A work in progress. I'm writing to Reyax in Taiwan about this glitch with the CRFOP AT command. I have to test it independently of my code with direct AT commands through serial I/O...

Lilygo LoRa32 v1.0 support question
Consider using the REYAX RYLR998. I started using these after giving up on the Waveshare LoRa HAT. These can be connected directly to the Raspberry Pi 4B . I am going to try connecting a Raspberry pico to a spare rylr998 in a few days. (My code isn't nearly as well-developed as yours is, but it is fully asynchronous--no threads.)

A tiny Lora module RYLR998 that works! (#stonez56 #rylr998 #lora #loramodule)
I now have code posted on github. This is a demo that runs on using asyncio and aioserial that I intend to make more interactive. https://github.com/flengyel/RYLR998-LoRa
