is Lockdown privacy a trustable tracker blocker?
It is, if you wanted to verify that you can look at the iOS source code and MacOS source code to verify, and there should be toggles to opt out of analytics in app as well

Lockdown or Blokada for iOS?
Based on a previous comment of mine, I would recommend AdGuard Pro over Blokada and Lockdown. My primary concern with Blokada (from my understanding of the iOS app here) is that the bundled blocklists cannot be dynamically updated. In other words, the Blokada team needs to push an app update for any blocklist updates. Similar for Lockdown (from my understanding here), but blocklists Lockdown uses are custom and more simplified, not relient on an actual public blocklist. Blokada supports "static" yet public blocklists while Lockdown uses its own smaller lists.

Is the Lockdown Privacy app for iOS worth it to block various in-app trackers if you already use a private network in general and many (Ad Guard, Hush, AdBlock Pro) Safari extensions?
I agree about the VPN dialog loop. It sucks but seems like an oversight. The bug looks like it has been reported: https://github.com/confirmedcode/Lockdown-iOS/issues/92
