Is there some way to have btop start running at OS boot and leave it running in the KDE system tray at all times?
ksystraycmd is deprecated. It's not present since KDE 5. Try using kdocker instead.

Does KDE have a way/option to have a bottom menu for background programs? I dont want discord and other things to constantly be in my task bar. Everytime I close them, they get fully shut down, instead of being put in a background task...which is pretty annoying
For apps that don't have a setting, you can use KDocker. I do that with Pulse Effects for the audio equalization GUI to run in the background.

Is there any way to minimize a Firefox Window to the system tray?
You can try MinimizeToTray (Windows), or KDocker (Linux).

Any way to minimise a window on loss of focus?
I think KDocker has a minimize on focus loss feature.

Linux Mint: Is Cron/Anacron right tool for this: start program on weekdays?
Thunderbird is only one example of a handful of programs I'd like to set in this way. However, as another question: I've been using KDocker to dock Thunderbird in the tray. I have KDocker running as a prefix (I think I'm using that right?) in the shortcut, so KDocker triggers when I hit the Thunderbird shortcut, and then Kdocker checks that Thunderbird really opens. However, if this doesn't happen within 30 seconds (apparently the maximum time for Kdocker), I get a popup that KDocker couldn't find it's target.

Can I set that programs get minimized/closed to system tray instead of being minimized/closed?
there's KDocker but i don't think it's actively developed.

Desktop Signal - Any way to minimize Signal to an icon like the Discord app, so it doesn't take up space alongside my main programs?
You can use KDocker to minimize anything to systray. I use the Debian package for it
