For those that don't know, C# libraries/packages pretty much work out of the box with Godot Mono. I used one to allow Godot to play any video format you want.
If you want to check out what I did with libVLCSharp, this is the link. It allows you to play and type of video you want. A possible future update would be to decode the video and make it either playable with Godot's current video player or to stream it in as a texture. Right now it does require an entire window to play, which limits its use cases. I was able to get it running in a separate window than the main Godot game window, but for right now, needing its own window is a limitation. Might make for a good cut/loading screen though. It can also record your screen, though it's probably not the most efficient method for doing that.
