The search for the definitive DIY photo frame software
The free software version is missing one of the files needed for install. Which both means that it's not in a state that is installable currently, and even if it were added back it still suggests this project isn't going to be well supported going forward.

Compiling C# for Linux
'm attempting to compile source code for 64 bit linux and I can't seem to figure out how that is done. I'm not a coder and understand very little about compiling and building. Specifically, I cloned this repo (https://github.com/Geektoolkit/Dynaframe3) in VS code and am attempting to build on the destination architecture, but I don't know how to perform a build operation as it continues to tell me to configure a default build task (in addition to telling me I don't have .NET SDK set up correctly). I've tried gcc from the command line, but I don't seem to have a configure script. I would appreciate any help as this is my first time compiling source code. Apologies if this is the incorrect subreddit.

"Quickstart: On a raspberry pi based system you'll want to connect to a network, put a few images in the Pictures folder to get started, and then run: sudo wget https://github.com/Geektoolkit/Dynaframe3/releases/download/2.19/install.sh && bash install.sh; rm -f install.sh ; sudo reboot On reboot it should startup, and it'll show you the URL of the configuration page."

I'm launching my Raspberry Pi Digital Poster software! I'm the developer behind Dynaframe, and after 2 years I've finally made a version I can support. I'll put a description in the comments for those that prefer text over videos, and I can answer questions about techniques I used for this project
Written version: Dynaframe is a project that I've been developing for years. I have an open source version here: https://github.com/Geektoolkit/Dynaframe3 which is community driven and supported. While maintaining and supporting it I realized some people just want an image that they can download and have work. I knew that was going to take a ton of time, and decided to release the software behind a Patreon for 5$ (patreon.com/geektoolkit). So that gives people an option to pay a bit for a supported version that I package into an image, or they can get the open source version which has less features, but develop away. Some interesting things about this project...I built it using Avalonia, which is a Windows WPF like xaml based language built on .net core. This means that doing visual effects is really easy, and the code base can work on windows, pc, linux, arm or x86 which is really neat. It also made developing for a raspberry pi much easier for me since I come from a windows development background.
