if you're playing on console it's a different story, you'd have to either get a prebuilt that works on the gamecube or use something like pico-rectangle.
keyboard might also be more viable, there are ways to emulate a b0xx-style layout on keyboard as long as your keyboard doesn't have a problem with pressing many keys at once.
