First, host the stuff you are using on a daily basis in Github. Make an account there and then a separate repository for separate project. Also to the root folder add a README.md file and add some description. Like this: https://github.com/loopalu/JiraStyle This is for building up your portfolio and documenting it which you can later on show when applying to university studies but also show when applying to a work.
Many exciting and ambitious things can still be done in Python ... this github repo, build-your-own-x, has some ideas which would look great in anyone's portfolio.
