Open source hyperconverged infrastructure (HCI) software

Has anyone tried this newfangled Harvester thingy that combines k8s with kvm?

  • OpenNebula

The open source Cloud & Edge Computing Platform bringing real freedom to your Enterprise Cloud 🚀

Since it hasn't been mentioned I'll throw https://opennebula.io/ out there for this.

  • InfluxDB

Power Real-Time Data Analytics at Scale. Get real-time insights from all types of time series data with InfluxDB. Ingest, query, and analyze billions of data points in real-time with unbounded cardinality.

  • Nomad

Nomad is an easy-to-use, flexible, and performant workload orchestrator that can deploy a mix of microservice, batch, containerized, and non-containerized applications. Nomad is easy to operate and scale and has native Consul and Vault integrations.

    Hashicorp Nomad

  • oVirt

    oVirt website

Anyone have any experience with oVirt ?: https://www.ovirt.org/

  • kubevirt

Kubernetes Virtualization API and runtime in order to define and manage virtual machines.

On the plus side if your company is good with kubernetes then everything becomes kubernetes based with harvester and rancher since a VM just becomes another kubernetes resource. This is the general direction that Rancher and Openshift are trying to move to to take on companies like vmware and even cloud solutions like openstack. If you would like to learn more about this check out the kubevirt project https://kubevirt.io/

  • WorkOS

The modern identity platform for B2B SaaS. The APIs are flexible and easy-to-use, supporting authentication, user identity, and complex enterprise features like SSO and SCIM provisioning.
