For instance starting with org-roam is easy, you go to https://github.com/org-roam/org-roam and see relevant install instructions. If you use use-package it take care of almost anything, you can also browse packages with M-x list-packages (the example init above setup it with most used repos) and have a classic UI with packages and their description, their homepage if any etc. Much of your experiment will be copypasting sexps ((use-package ...)) that you find on package's homepages. A step at a time you'll learn the rest.
