To be honest, I'd recommend you just install cfw onto your console instead. It's free and will only take up a small bit of your time. To do this, follow the guide at https://3ds.hacks.guide . You can then install twilight menu for ds games. GBA games can also be played through twilight menu as gbarunner2 is built into it. mGBA was also ported to the 3ds, so you can use that to play GBA games.
