  • I use passwordstore. I'd recommend it for individuals, but can see it being a pain to manage for an organization. That being said, it's dead simple to set up and sync between devices using git over ssh. You can secure it the same as you would for ssh; disable password auth and use key-based auth only, forward ssh on a non-default port, and protect it with fail2ban.
