I would just recommend using a neversink filter at https://www.filterblade.xyz/ You can just go to the overview page and slide the strictness filter based on how you feel, usually when I get to red maps I am using a very-strict and when I am juicing/spamming one map super-late game I use uber-strict. It is counter-intuitive but generally the more strict your filter is, the more money you are making because you spend less time picking up and sorting trash items - assuming that you are in red maps with decent juice.
The exception is that during the first week or so of a league it is often worthwhile to pick up vendor recipe items (R-G-B for chrom recipe, 6s for jewelers, full set of rares for chaos). The Chaos recipe in particular is pretty complicated and takes up a lot of space, there are a couple tools that can make this easier, notably Chaos Recipe Enhancer tool: https://github.com/ChaosRecipeEnhancer/EnhancePoEApp
