I've been developing in C++ on and off for ~5 years, but I can barely read this question... is this normal?

C++ has many programing techniques, one of them is generic programming other meta programing aka compile time evaluation. Programing in C++ doesn't require using all possible models, I see that most people stay only with objective which often is not very efficient but easy to understand as is close to java. Meta programing can be very effective in compile time error checking, programing code concepts , ~ restricting functions to work with selected types. for ex check such concept programing in c++17 in my fixedmath library https://github.com/arturbac/fixed_math/blob/master/fixed_lib/include/fixedmath/math.h
