  • Heimdall

Heimdall is a cross-platform open-source tool suite used to flash firmware (aka ROMs) onto Samsung Galaxy devices. (by Benjamin-Dobell)

  • ah, this is where android studio and the other tools come in. I can install adb and fastboot, and they operate as regular commands. Android studio is also a linux-native app. I use android all the time with linux, and I enjoy it more than windows. MTP support is great in linux, adb and fastboot feel like normal commands, not just regular binaries like in windows. Also, a project called "heimdall" aims to support Odin (which is leaked samsung internal software) https://github.com/Benjamin-Dobell/Heimdall
