SurveyJS
Open-Source JSON Form Builder to Create Dynamic Forms Right in Your App. With SurveyJS form UI libraries, you can build and style forms in a fully-integrated drag & drop form builder, render them in your JS app, and store form submission data in any backend, inc. PHP, ASP.NET Core, and Node.js.
You should choose an instance based on your interests and what you want to see, who you want to interact with, etc. You can try this site to seek one out https://instances.social/ . Also mastodon is not facebook or twitter, it doesn't spoon feed you, it doesn't monitor you with algorithms, it doesn't collect your data to build a profile on you. You have to seek out what you want to see and follow. Use searches, hashtags, bridges, etc. You can eventually build a nice account but it takes time. But that is the trade-off for being in charge of your own social media. For me it is worth it.
