I wondered when this will get asked. I would say, if X works for you stick with it. Wayland is nice, but not everything is yet Wayland native. But for example Electron should get support in the new Electron 12 release coming out in March. But right now, you will still have to rely on XWayland from time to time. I would say Wayland will probably be the future, but that's just my opinion and don't take my word for it. I am not going to convince you here that A is better than B, I think it's up to everybody's preference.
