In macOS, the acceleration curve of the cursor seems to be tuned expertly for the trackpad, and is incredibly intuitive to me for that use case, and is kinda known for being best in class. The mouse has separate settings, but the same acceleration curve is also applied to the mouse, where I feel like it doesn't make any sense at all. Apple also doesn't expose the settings to user to disable mouse acceleration. I use a utility Linear Mouse to disable mouse acceleration.
