  • repology-updater

Repology backend service to update repository and package data

  • https://repology.org is not really suited for end users. I recommend https://pkgs.org, you can easily filter by distros and it shows more relevant info like package descriptions.

  • distrobox

Use any linux distribution inside your terminal. Enable both backward and forward compatibility with software and freedom to use whatever distribution you’re more comfortable with. Mirror available at: https://gitlab.com/89luca89/distrobox

  • Another addition is that you could also add distros in Fedora without a VM using docker containers without the standard sandbox restrictions using tools like toolbox or distrobox. I have Arch with the AUR running in a toolbox but supposedly distrobox it is simplified I guess. The cool part is either way this also supports running GUI apps as well, so not just the CLI.
